According to TMZ, 77-year-old 'Hello' singer is currently in the intensive care unit (ICU). Other reports state that Richie is at a Missouri hospital.
The news comes after the singer performed his final song, 'All Night Long', while sitting down during the show.
TMZ reports that shortly after the concert ended, Richie checked himself into a hospital.
According to the website, doctors are looking into possible mild dehydration, however, other news sources report that Richie was hospitalised for cardiac-related issues.
Over a career spanning more than four decades, the music legend continues to captivate fans around the globe. Richie has won multiple Grammy Awards and a Golden Globe, with hits such as 'All Night Long', 'Hello' and 'I Call It Love'.
As news of his hospitalisation spreads, fans around the world are sending their well wishes to the music icon.
This is not the first health scare the singer has had this year. In June, Richie reportedly became unwell during a show and had to cut his performance short before being taken to hospital by ambulance.
After recovering, Richie took to social media to thank his fans for their support and reassure them that he was doing well.
