Mariah Carey celebrates 'Daydream' anniversary with release of new vinyl
Great news for Mariah Carey’s fans. The iconic singer has released a new vinyl edition of her 1995 album, 'Daydream', to celebrate its 30th anniversary.
Over the weekend, Mariah Carey’s fans were treated to exciting news from the iconic singer as she released a special anniversary vinyl edition of her 'Daydream' album.
Taking to social media to share the announcement, Mariah wrote: “#Daydream 30 is finally here.”
She also reflected on what the album meant to her.
“This album marked an era of firsts for me: my first rap collaboration on the iconic "Fantasy" remix with O.D.B., my first time working with JD, my first world tour, my first time directing a music video on my own, and so many more."
She also announced that the anniversary edition includes some special additions. "So it's only fitting to include some "firsts" on this anniversary edition too! Most notably, this is the first time I've ever agreed (or rather, been convinced) to release my private writing sessions for "I Am Free" (with Walter A.) and "Melt Away" (with Babyface)."
“I hope you enjoy this lil' glimpse into the making of these songs, along with remixes, live performances, acapellas, and b-sides,” she wrote.
Mariah also thanked Amazon Music for featuring the anniversary release.
The release comes as a recent video of Mariah performing at a New York concert had fans concerned. Mariah was singing her hit song 'Hero', with some saying she sounded a bit off and was unable to hit some of the high notes she is known for. Others expressed concern about the state of her voice.
However, many fans came to her defense, saying it is natural for her voice to have changed over the years and that she should be given grace after a career spanning more than three decades.
