Channel Tres has remixed Mariah Carey’s popular 'Glitter' track 'All My Life' and the singer has shared her excitement about the new version.
New music alert! Mariah Carey and Channel Tres are dropping new music soon.
Chanel Tres, whose real name is Sheldon Jerome Young, has remixed ‘All My Life’, Carey's popular song from the 2001 'Glitter' movie soundtrack, originally written by Rick James.
The producer and DJ shared a snippet of the remix on his social media last week, with Carey responding with fire emojis. Over the weekend, the 'Heartbreaker' hitmaker gave her fans another glimpse of the remix and shared how much she loves the new version.
“Thank you @channeltres for this fabulous remix of All My Life,” she wrote.
She said the song is one of her favourite tracks from 'Glitter' and revealed that the remix will be released on 30 October.
Fans were quick to react, with many praising the remix and calling it a "banger.
How 'All My Life' came about
In a previous interview, Carey explained how ‘All My Life’ came to be.
The singer said she approached Rick James about collaborating on the song. In the interview she explained that she wanted to create something new with a sound inspired by Mary J. Blige.
James, however, had a different idea.
"I wanted to do something new, but like Mary Jane Girls-esque. He's like, 'I have a different idea. You can change whatever you want.'"
Carey recalled that James came up with the line, “You and only you can do the freaky thing you do.”
"I would never have come up with a line like, 'You and only you can do the freaky thing you do.' It was so Rick James that I just said, 'I don't need to change this.' He wrote it and it's authentic to the period of time," she said.
'Glitter' anniversary
The new remix comes as Carey continues to celebrate the 'Glitter' anniversary era.
The singer has been sharing posts with her fans about the upcoming anniversary celebrations, including the return of Glitter to streaming platforms and other surprises.
The anniversary release marks 25 years since the original album was released. The album is also set to be available digitally and on vinyl, marking its first-ever vinyl reissue.
Earlier this year, 'Glitter' was removed from major streaming platforms, making the upcoming return particularly exciting for fans of the album.
