Met Gala 2026 red carpet: Beyoncé, Tyla, Rihanna turn heads
Beyoncé, Rihanna, Tyla, Sabrina Carpenter, and Blake Lively, who just settled her 'It Ends With Us' lawsuit, were among the stars on this year's red carpet.
A-list stars gathered at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York on Monday, May 4, for the 2026 Met Gala.
The theme for this year's event was 'Costume Art', and attendees were asked to follow the 'Fashion is Art' dress code.
Fashion's biggest night attracted some of the world's biggest stars, including music superstar Beyoncé.
The 35x Grammy Award winner, who co-chaired the event, turned heads in a diamond-encrusted dress designed by Olivier Rousteing.
She completed the look with a matching headpiece and an elaborate feathered train. This is her first time attending the gala in over a decade.
Beyoncé's daughter, Blue Ivy, and husband, rapper Jay-Z, joined her on the carpet.
Queen B co-chaired the event alongside Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams and Vogue magazine's Anna Wintour.

South African singer Tyla returned to the Met Gala for a third time. She wore a custom Valentino gown inspired by a peacock.
The 24-year-old's dress featured a silk skirt with a thigh-high slit and rhinestones.
Kim Kardashian, a Met Gala regular over the years, rocked a tangerine breastplate and an open skirt on the red carpet.
Her sisters, Kendall and Kylie Jenner, were also spotted on the carpet. The family's momager, Kris Jenner, stole the show in a stylish blunt bob and a kimono-inspired look.
The biggest surprise of the night was actress Blake lively's attendance. She attended the event just hours after her lawyers announced that she would settle her lawsuit against Wayfarer Studios over the 'It Ends With Us' movie.
She sued the production company alongside director Justin Baldoni for workplace harassment and retaliation, among other claims.
Wayfarer vehemently denied the accusations, and in April 2026, a New York judge dismissed 10 of Lively's 13 claims, including sexual harassment and defamation.
Baldoni's lawsuit against Lively, Ryan Reynolds and The New York Times was also dismissed.
Lively was set to go on trial in two weeks to face off with Wayfarer over claims of retaliation and breach of contract.
However, in a shocking twist, both parties have agreed to settle the matter, putting an end to the bitter, costly legal dispute.
Lively wasted no time putting the lawsuit behind her. She walked the red carpet in a pastel coloured Versace gown.
