New Jennifer Lopez picture sparks Gwen Stefani comparison
Jennifer Lopez's latest social media post has people questioning if she is Gwen Stefani's long-lost relative.
Lopez took to Instagram to share a picture of herself with platinum blonde hair. The star's striking hairdo was created for her role in Bill Condon's upcoming musical film, 'Kiss of the Spider Woman'.
"Stepping into the role of Aurora felt like dancing through the golden age of cinema … with all the glitz, glamour, and a whole lot of dancing," she captioned the picture.
"Stepping back into time has never been so much fun."
The 56-year-old's 247 million followers had to do a double-take as Lopez's transformation was not only stunning but resembled another famous singer.
"She looks like Gwen Stefani," one follower commented.
Another user wrote: "I thought this was Gwen Stefani at first glance!" A third person added: "What in the Gwen Stefani is this?"
Some people even tagged the No Doubt singer in Lopez's post.
Celebrity makeup artist Scott Barnes also commented on the post. He revealed how he created the makeup for the look.
"This was no ordinary glam. I created a full transformation for JLo as Ingrid Luna in 'Kiss of the Spider Woman' — and she looks breathtaking," he wrote.
Lopez plays multiple roles in the film. One character is a famous actress named Ingrid Luna. She also plays Aurora/ The Spider Woman, a fantasy woman dreamed up by two men stuck in an Argentine prison.
The 'Love Don't Cost A Thing' singer is already getting rave reviews for her portrayal based on the movie's trailer.
"Please give her the Oscar. Not just for this but for everything," one YouTuber commented on the trailer, which was released in June.
"She's continuing to work hard despite the negativity and it all comes from a place of love. I respect it!"
Another YouTuber commented: "She looks absolutely STUNNING with that blonde wig! This trailer looks promising. She sounds fantastic."
'Kiss of the Spider Woman' is due for release in cinemas on October 10.
