The 'Chains' hitmaker has admitted he is a "firm believer" in extraterrestrial life after claiming he encountered "three flying saucers" as a young boy.

Speaking of close pal Demi Lovato's alien belief on Late Night with Seth Meyers, he said: "Yeah, she and I have talked about this a lot. I am on board. So when I was 14 maybe, I was in my backyard playing basketball with some friends, and I looked up in the sky and there was three flying saucers.

"This is Hollywood, so everyone was like, 'It's a movie, it's a movie set,' and I was convinced it was real. I looked up online and there was three identical sightings in other states. So I am a firm believer in aliens and extraterrestrial life."

Meanwhile, the 22-year-old singer recently revealed he and the 'Cool for the Summer' hitmaker regularly go for bowling trips.

He shared: "We usually go bowling. I've got my own ball and shoes and everything so I'd say probably I'm the best bowler. I'm very serious about that.

"We genuinely love just hanging out and playing music. It's great just to have no agenda but to vibe out."
