RAYE celebrates 'Where Is My Husband!' hitting No. 1
She might not have a husband, but at least RAYE has a certified hit single.
English singer RAYE has secured her second number one song in the United Kingdom.
Her latest single, 'Where Is My Husband!', has made it to the top spot on the Official Singles Chart.
"It becomes RAYE’s second UK chart-topper to date, and 20th Top 40 single across a decade-long career," Official Charts said.
An overjoyed RAYE shared a picture of herself holding her Official Number 1 Award.
Every artist who reaches number one receives a custom music plaque, featuring the name of the song that achieves the milestone.
"I may not have a husband, but I DO HAVE A NUMBER 1," the singer wrote on Instagram.
The song is charting ahead of Taylor Swift's 'The Fate of Ophelia' and three songs from Olivia Dean, including 'Man I Need'.
'Where Is My Husband!' is the lead single from RAYE's upcoming album. The song has been described as a "sassy and sincere ode" to her search for a life partner.
She shared an update on her new project in an Instagram post shared in November.
"Making this album from a much healthier place, never let anyone decide your ceilings!" the 'Escapism.' singer wrote.
The album will feature some of the songs RAYE wrote that went missing when her car was stolen in 2024. All her songwriting books were in the boot of her car, which was parked outside her house at the time.
"I had a lot of brilliant poems and titles and phrases and words. I was starting to explore the idea of writing the lyrics to melodies. Melodies are an abundant thing you can always play with, but the lyrics are different — they’re so important," she told Variety.
Last year, RAYE revealed that the police recovered her stolen car.
"So it was a rollercoaster journey, but what I didn't tell everyone is that the police called me, maybe like two, three months ago, and they were like, 'We found your car'," she told Capital Radio in October.
"And I got it back, and not only did I get it back, not one thing had been taken out of the car and all my songwriting books were there untouched."
RAYE's upcoming album, which does not yet have a title, is scheduled to debut sometime in 2026.
