His death was announced by his family, on Tuesday, in a statement which has since been shared by multiple international media outlets.

“While our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing how deeply Peabo was loved and how many lives were touched by his voice and his generous spirit. His legacy and music will live on for generations to come.

For more than five decades, Peabo’s extraordinary voice served as the soundtrack to some of life’s most cherished moments,” the family’s statement said. “His music carried generations through joyful celebrations, great love stories and enduring moments of comfort and inspiration.”

Bryson, a two-time Grammy winner, was the voice behind several Sunday staples such as ‘Can you stop the rain’ and ‘If ever you’re in my arms again’.

He also collaborated with other musical powerhouses to produce hits like ‘Tonight, I celebrate my love’ with Roberta Flack, and the Disney movie classic ‘Beauty and the beast’ with Celine Dion.
