The best song of the past 25 years was released at the beginning of the 21st century.

Rolling Stone magazine released its list of the 250 greatest songs of the century so far this week. Missy Elliot's 'Get Ur Freak On' came out tops.

The song, which was released in 2001, featured on her third studio album, ''Miss E... So Addictive'.

Elliot co-wrote the song with Grammy Award-winning producer Timbaland. It won 'Best Rap Solo Performance' at the 2002 Grammys.

The track's Dave Meyers-directed music video was also critically acclaimed. It has been labelled one of the best music videos in history.
