Sabrina Carpenter's new album achieves career best
'Man's Best Friend' is the third biggest album debut of the year.
Sabrina Carpenter's 'Man's Best Friend' earned her the biggest opening week of her career, with over 366,000 equivalent album units sold.
The project debuted at No.1 on the Billboard 200, knocking 'Karma: The 4th Edition' by Stray Kids off the top spot.
According to Billboard, 'Man's Best Friend' is the third-highest album debut of 2025.
Country star Morgan Wallen scored the largest debut of the year with 'I'm the Problem', which sold 493,000.
The Weeknd's 'Hurry Up Tomorrow' moved 490,000 units.
Carpenter's album, which was released on August 29, also made history on Spotify. It is the most-streamed album in a single day for 2025.
"Happy 1 week of MBF. The way you are listening and holding this album has exceeded anything I thought to be imaginable. I love you all so much. Thank you for listening," the 'Espresso' singer wrote on Instagram.
Her first-week sales for 'Man's Best Friend' beat the career high set by her previous album, 'Short n' Sweet'.
It sold 362,000 units when it was released in August 2024, and is currently #7 on the Billboard 200.
'Short n' Sweet' won 'Best Pop Vocal Album' at the 2025 Grammys. It also won 'Best Album' at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards.
"This album is one of my most prized possessions and brought me closer to myself as well as so many beautiful people and places. Thank you for still listening every single day. Thank you for coming to the shows and singing till your lungs give out," Carpenter wrote on its one-year anniversary.
