Selena Gomez drops new song for 'Nobody Wants This' season 2
The new season 'Nobody Wants This' features original songs from several singers including Selena Gomez.
Selena Gomez has released a new song for season two of Netflix's popular series, 'Nobody Wants This'.
"‘In The Dark’ is out now. This is just a little nostalgia droplet, and I hope you love it," she said.
The 33-year-old also debuted the track's music video, which was shot in under eight hours.
"I don’t need anyone/That’s what you say when you’re drunk/ Cover it up in a sea of emotion of waves but I, /I can still see you If there was no consequence/ Would you still be on defence/ Don’t you forget it I know you better than you know you/ Your lows are mine too," she sings.
The second instalment of 'Nobody Wants This' premiered on Netflix on Thursday, October 23. It stars Kristen Bell (Joanne Williams) and Adam Brody (Noah Roklov).
This season also features songs from Teddy Swims, Alessia Cara, Giveon and Finneas.
'Into The Dark' is just a "droplet," but fans hope for a splash of something more to come. "She needs to come back to music full-time. This is her sound," a Selenator commented on YouTube.
Earlier this year, Gomez released a joint album with her then-fiancé, Benny Blanco.
'I Said I Love You First' was released on March 21. The album debuted at #2 and produced hits such as 'Sunset Blvd' and 'Call Me When You Break Up' featuring Gracie Abrams.
Last year, 'The Only Murders in the Building' star expressed a desire to retire from music and focus on her acting career and other ventures.
“I started having a lot of fun with music, and then touring was really fun," she said on the 'Smartless' podcast.
"But I was doing my TV show ['Wizards of Waverly Place'] at the same time and I just found it really fun so I just kept going. The older I get, the more I’m kind of like, ‘I would like to find something to just settle on.'”
