Taylor Swift releases acoustic version of 'The Fate of Ophelia'
The new cut of 'The Fate of Ophelia' is called 'Alone in My Tower Acoustic Version'.
The lead single from Taylor Swift's new album, 'The Life of a Showgirl', just got an acoustic rendition.
An acoustic version of her #1 smash hit, 'The Fate of Ophelia', was made available on all streaming platforms this week.
The track's 'Alone in My Tower Acoustic Version' is a stripped-down cut that originally featured on one of the CD variants of her album.
"All that time/I sat alone in my tower/You were just honing your powers/Now I can see it all (See it all)/Late one night/You dug me out of my grave and/Saved my heart from the fate of Ophelia," she sings.
Her fans are equally in love with the acoustic version
"For me, this is the definite version of this song. Takes me back to the medieval, fantasy vibes of the original story of Ophelia," one fan commented on YouTube.
Another fan added: "I didn't expect that I would like this more in acoustic version."
The original version of the song has spent three weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot 100, but is facing stiff competition from the 'Kpop Demon Hunters' song, 'Golden'.
'Golden' is currently the No.1 song on the Top 40 with Danny Painter.

'The Fate of Ophelia' is dedicated to Swift's fiancé, NFL player Travis Kelce. Several other songs also feature lyrics about the Kansas City Chiefs star.
Swift currently has four songs charting in the top 10 on the Hot 100, including 'Opalite' and 'Elizabeth Taylor'.
The music video for 'The Fate of Ophelia' has also performed well. It has been watched over 90 million times since its release earlier this month.
