Canadian singer The Weeknd has sparked speculation that he is working on new music with pop star Ariana Grande.

He teased a possible collaboration in a post shared by an Instagram page that fans have identified as his finsta, @gene.hackerman.

A finsta page, also known as finstagram, is a secondary account people use to interact anonymously. It's a combination of the words "fake" and "Instagram".

The Gene Hackerman account, which is the only account The Weeknd follows, took to Instagram Stories to celebrate their previous four collaborations: 'Love Me Harder', 'Off the Table', 'Save Your Tears' and the 'Die For You' remix.

The post featured four collision/explosion emojis to represent each song. They were followed by an ellipsis and an extra emoji, leading fans to believe that he was hinting at a fifth song.

"Four masterpieces already, and a fifth one on the way? We are truly blessed. Their vocals together are pure magic," one fan wrote on X

Another fan commented: "They need to stop teasing and just give us the joint album at this point. The chemistry is insane."

Some also suggest that the musicians could be working on the FIFA World Cup anthem, which is yet to be announced, with just four months to go before the tournament starts.

Others pointed out that The Weeknd could simply be celebrating the third anniversary of 'Die For You'. The song was released on February 24, 2023.

The singer, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, also took to his official Instagram page to repost a video of Grande recording vocals for 'Die for You'.

"Wrote and recorded a verse for my friend after a 14-hour day on set. This certain exception had to be made…." she wrote in 2023.

Grande was working on the set of 'Wicked' at the time. A few days later, The Weekend dropped the 'Die For You' remix.

In 2020, The Weeknd also shared a post Grande made about her album, 'Positions'. It was later revealed that he features on one of the album's songs, 'Off the Table'.

Despite no official confirmation, the pattern is clear: whenever these two repost each other's content, a hot new collaboration is on the way.

Their previous projects have been major successes, with 'Save Your Tears', 'Die for You' and 'Love Me Harder' all surpassing one billion streams on Spotify.
