Tygers, the wait is almost over for Tyla's new album. Watch the singer's album trailer.
Grammy Award-winning singer Tyla has announced the release date of her sophomore album, 'A-POP'.
The 24-year-old announced the album's title at the 2026 Grammys, but she has been hush-hush about when it will drop.
The countdown to 'A-POP' has officially begun and Tyla has revealed that it will hit streaming platforms on Friday, July 24.
"A*POP IS JULY 24TH. Pre-save in bio. Get your paws on it nyowwww, you Sexc animal," she wrote.
Tyla also shared the album's trailer on social media, with the words "African", "Unapologetic", "Fun",
"Confident" and "Global" flashing across the screen.
The trailer also features a beat, which is believed to be a sneak peek of a new song on the album.
"Whatever this song is…it sounds [fire]," one Tyger, as her fans are called, commented.
The South African singer has already released two songs from the album, 'Chanel', which featured on the Billboard Hot 100. It also was certified gold in America.
Her second single, 'She Did It Again', featuring Zara Larsson, was released in April.
The song's lyrics included a shout-out to Britney Spears.
Tyla also shared the album's official cover art, which some have likened to Lady Gaga's 'ARTPOP', "especially the typography".
The image shows her crossing her arms while her long curly hair covers her face. 'A*POP' is written in pink across the cover.
Not everyone is feeling the cover, calling it "tacky".
"The album cover isn't giving Apop, gurl. You have a month to change it. Pooja what is this behavior? We ain't here to play, whoever's in charge,.....y'all better work," one person said.
Another fan wrote, "I normally don’t EVER hate on cover art, but this one, I don’t like it."
It is one of those 'love it or hate it' covers, and most of Tyla's fans appear to love it.
"I was like, 'This looks tacky', until I realized it looks like stickers/cutout letters lifting off a surface."
Some believe the cover is only for the vinyl edition of the album. Her website only shows the cover on one of two vinyl covers. The second is a pink vinyl cover with a different image.
Tyla has not shared the track list, but like her debut self-titled album, it is likely to feature some interesting features.
Chloe Bailey and Kehlani showed out some love in the comments section, which means they are either big Tyla fans or they might be making an appearance on 'A-POP'.
"@kehlani collab is coming," one Instagram user wrote.
