'Water' hitmaker Tyla has officially announced the title of her second studio album.

She shared the news backstage at the 2026 Grammys after winning her second award. She won 'Best African Music Performance' for her hit single, 'Push 2 Start'.

"I just want to announce something," she said. "I want to announce that my sophomore album drops this summer and it's called 'A-POP'."

Tyla didn't share any further details other than that fans can expect new hit songs "very soon". The singer is known for blending pop and R&B with amapiano, leading many to call her sound popiano.

The 24-year-old, who has previously been compared to singers such as Rihanna and Ariana Grande, has also described herself as an African popstar.

The South African singer also plans to go on tour following the release of her new album.

"It's going to be very different. It's a new Tyla - not really a new Tyla, just me now. I just grew up. I was 21, 22, now I'm 24. I feel like a woman. I have other things to say. I have other vibes that I want to give... I'm so excited," she said.

Eagle-eyed fans noticed that Tyla hid the name 'A-Pop' in the music video for her #1 Afrobeats song, 'Chanel'

'A-POP' flashes across the screen 52 seconds into the video. It can also be seen in other parts of the visuals.

"It's going to be crazy," she added about her upcoming project.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight on the Grammys red carpet, Tyla revealed that the album was "basically done".

Since the release of her debut album, 'TYLA', the singer has secured her third Billboard Hot 100 hit and ruled the U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart

She was named the #1 Afrobeats artist of 2025 after dominating the charts with 11 songs, including 'Push 2 Start', 'Mr Media' and 'Chanel', which is #1 on the latest chart.

Her 2023 song 'Water' has spent 126 weeks on the chart and is currently at #2, while 'Push 2 Start' is #5.

Tyla also has three songs on the Top 40 with Danny Painter

#17 'Damiano David featuring Tyla and Nile Rodgers - 'Talk to Me'
