Tyla rules America's Afrobeats charts in 2025
The South African singer is the top U.S. Afrobeats artist of the year with 11 songs charting in 2025.
Tyla's star continues to rise on the global stage with the singer defending her title as the #1 Afrobeats artist in America.
Billboard released its annual year-end charts showcasing the top albums, songs and artists of 2025.
The 23-year-old is at the top of the leaderboard on the 2025 Year-End Top U.S. Afrobeats Artist chart. She was also the top artist in 2024, making her the first act to claim the title twice.
The Grammy Award-winner had a whopping 11 songs on the U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart this year, including her new singles, 'Mr. Media' and 'Chanel', which debuted at #1.
'Chanel' is trending on TikTok, with scores of people, including singer Ciara, participating in the dance challenge. Justin Bieber was also seen listening to the popular track during a livestream.
Tyla's 2023 smash hit, 'Water', is still a favourite with fans. It was named the #2 on the '2025 Year-End Afrobeats Songs Chart' behind MOLIY, Shenseea, Skillibeng and Silent Addy's 'Shake it to the Max (Fly)'.
'Water' currently has over 1.2 billion streams on Spotify. Her hit song, 'Push 2 Start', claimed the #3 spot.
Meanwhile, Taylor Swift's 12th studio album, 'The Life of a Showgirl', ruled the top 2025 year-end Billboard 200 Albums chart.
The album debuted in October, just before Billboard's eligibility period ended. She claimed the #1 spot with just one week of activity.
The album sold a staggering four million equivalent album units in its first week. Country singer Morgan Wallen was the top artist of 2025 while Alex Warren was the top new artist of the year.
Blackpink star Rosé and Bruno Mars' 'APT.' topped the Billboard Global 200. Mars was also a winner on the Year-End Hot 100 chart.
His single with Lady Gaga, 'Die With a Smile', was the number one song of the year on the chart.
"Notably, the ballad breaks barriers as the first annual Hot 100 Songs No. 1 duet by a female and male soloist each in lead roles over the chart's 67-year history," Billboard said.
