South African superstar Tyla wowed fans after joining Shakira on stage during her US tour, delivering a performance that had the crowd on its feet.

South Africans have yet another reason to celebrate one of their biggest stars.

Grammy-winning singerTyla recently joined global music icon Shakira on stage during the US leg of her 'Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran North American' tour in Brooklyn, treating fans to a memorable surprise performance.

Videos shared on social media show the pair performing Shakira’s global hit 'Hips Don’t Lie', with Tyla effortlessly matching the Colombian superstar’s energy. Her confident stage presence and impressive dance moves left many fans saying she looked as though she had always been part of the song.

Dressed in stunning outfits, the two stars lit up the stage with their chemistry, proving why they are among the biggest names in the music industry.

Fans flooded the comments section with praise, while local celebrities, including Minnie Dlamini, reacted with fire emojis and words of admiration.

"Tyla is absolutely the girl she knows she is," one person commented.

Another said: "Tyla is living all her childhood dreams."

Shakira is nearing the end of the US leg of her world tour, with only two shows remaining.

Other surprise guests who have joined Shakira during her US tour include Ed Sheeran and Burna Boy.

The Brooklyn performance follows another major moment after the two stars appeared during the 2026 FIFA World Cup celebrations. Tyla also earned praise for her moving rendition of South Africa's national anthem alongside Mzansi Youth Choir.

Since bursting onto the global music scene with her breakout hit 'Water', Tyla has become one of South Africa’s biggest international success stories. She has performed at major festivals, collaborated with global stars and continues to showcase South African talent on some of the world’s biggest stages.

Shakira took to social media to also showcase some of the best backstage moments at the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final Halftime Show.

The collaboration comes weeks after Shakira announced that Tyla would be joining her on one of her shows during the US tour.

"Okay, I think this is somehow unexpected, but I just couldn’t wait to share the news with you because I'm gonna be performing with Tyla at one of my shows on my US tour, and I’m so excited because I love Tyla.

"I love her as an artist and as a human being. I think she’s just incredible, and I think that this performance is gonna be just iconic, and I’m so lucky to have her with me on stage during my second US run.

"Um, so yeah, I can't wait. I can't wait. I can't wait. Thank you, Tyla. I love you," she wrote at the time.
