3 suspects in court for murder of actress Thandeka Mdeliswa

Three suspects are expected to appear in the Evander Magistrate’s Court in connection with the murder of well-known actress Thandeka Mdeliswa.
The suspects. who are all in their 20s, were nabbed by police last week and are set to appear in court on Monday.
Mdeliswa, who also starred in the television series ‘Generations the Legacy’ died while attempting to stop a squabble between her brother and two men.

“She then went out to investigate the problem whereupon getting closer, one of the men snatched a firearm from his friend and shot her,” says Mpumalanga police spokesperson Leonard Hlathi.
“The two men thereafter fled the scene and police as well as medical personnel were immediately summoned where the victim was hospitalised but unfortunately died on 5 September.”
Mpumalanga police commissioner Mondli Zuma has lauded the police in Evander and metro police in Ekurhuleni for the swift arrests of the three suspects.
“We are glad that the suspects have been arrested including the alleged murderer. We also believe that at least the arrest will bring comfort to the family as they will be able to find closure on the matter.”
