The shutdown is due to complete a tie-in of the newly replaced section of the G20 pipeline to the existing G20 pipeline.

The 39-hour shutdown will start at 6 pm on Thursday to effect repairs and is estimated to complete repairs on Saturday at 11am.

Rand Water spokesperson Makenosi Maroo says several residents of Winchester Hills and surrounding areas will be affected.

“The shutdown will result in no water supply to parts of the following areas: Winchester Hills, Gillview, Mondeor, Suiderood and Glenanda.

“Alternative water supply is being arranged for the affected areas. Further updates will be provided to residents.”
