A woman and her four-month-old grandson died after they inhaled fumes from a generator in Pretoria, paramedics said on Friday.
The infant, his mother and grandmother were in a room with a running generator on Thursday, said Netcare 911 spokesman Chris Botha.
"The house owners found the unconscious people when they returned from work and raced them to a nearby medical facility," Botha said.
The boy and his grandmother died.
His mother was hospitalised. She is in a critical condition.
