"We will not apologise for believing in the Scriptures that are instructing us to pray for the peace of Jerusalem," said Meshoe.
The African Christain Democratic Party (ACDP)'s leader, Kenneth Meshoe has marched to Constitution Hill to defend chief justice, Mogoeng Mogoeng.
Mogoeng is in the hot seat for his controversial statements about Israel and has been ordered by the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) to apologise for them.
The chief justice has however said he will be appealing this decision.

On Monday, Meshoe said Mogoeng has not engaged in political controversy.
"They are bringing political controversy into biblical truth," he said, noting that there is a difference between the people of Israel, the government of Isreal, and the state of Israel.
"What he did was Biblical," insists Meshoe who drew on the Constitution to point to Mogoeng's right to freedom of belief and expression.
"We will not apologise for believing in the Scriptures that are instructing us to pray for the peace of Jerusalem," said Meshoe, noting that he supports prayer for Israelis and Palestinians.
