The lobby group has served them with an application in connection with the allegations that On-Point Engineering was used by the EFF leader to siphon money into his Ratanang family trust.

In 2013, the company was in court for being awarded a tender worth R52-million which was allegedly unlawfully obtained.

On-Point was in 2009 appointed to support the Roads and Transport Department in Limpopo.

In 2012 then Public Protector Thuli Madonsela found that the department did not follow proper procedures in awarding the tender.

Madonsela also revealed that On-Point and Malema improperly benefited from the contract.

The lobby group’s CEO Kallie Kriel says AfriForum served a mandamus application on the NPA because the Malema believes he is above the law.

“It is not only about Mr Malema, but it is also about the legal system in our country because if normal people see that people are getting away with things and are not prosecuted – it leads to lawlessness,” says Kriel.
