The National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa (Numsa) confirmed that the Labour Court granted an interim interdict to Air Chefs on Monday.
This follows a planned strike by Numsa members at SAA, SA Express, SA Airlink, Mango and Swiss Airlines over withdrawal of bonuses.
The union’s spokesperson Phakamile Hlubi-Majola says the industrial action has been suspended.

“NUMSA can confirm that the labour court has granted an interim interdict to Air Chef. This means we cannot embark on a strike as it will not be legally protected.
The union is set to appear in Labour Court on November 27 to defend why the interdict should not remain permanent.
