All provinces see a decline in Covid-19 cases

For the first time since the start of the third wave of Covid-19, all nine provinces in South Africa have shown a decline in the number of new infections.
The National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD) reports 4 215 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours reporting cycle up to Thursday evening.
The institute says the latest increase represents a 9.3% positivity rate, remaining under 10% for a third consecutive day.
A further 311 Covid-19 related deaths have been reported, bringing total fatalities to 85 779.
Western Cape recorded the highest number of daily infections with 905, followed by the Eastern Cape with 850 new cases.
Limpopo recorded just 49 new infections.
There has been an increase of 275 hospital admissions in the past 24 hours.
The number of patients receiving treatment for coronavirus related complications in both public and private healthcare facilities stands at 9 384 people.
