Allegations emerge against senior journalist at Zondo commission
Updated | By Gaopalelwe Phalaetsile
The Tiso Blackstar Group has placed its associate editor Ranjeni Munusamy on special leave after allegations at the commission of inquiry into state capture that she benefitted from funds looted from a secret service account.
Senior Hawks investigator Kobus Roelofse implicated Munusamy on his second day of testimony.
He said several journalists were paid by the crime intelligence unit to write certain articles.
According to Roelofse, the unit paid R143 621.78 towards Munusamy's vehicle in 2008.
The Tiso Blackstar Group responded by saying Munusamy was working independently at the time payment was said to be made.
