Alleged UK fugitive to remain behind bars until August
The extradition case against Ndodana Tshuma, wanted in the UK on three murder charges, has been postponed until 27 August, while a separate firearm and ammunition case remains under police investigation.
The case involving a man suspected of killing his wife and two daughters in the UK has been postponed in the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court.
Ndodana Tshuma (46) appeared in court on two separate matters on Wednesday.
He appeared in extradition proceedings following a request by the United Kingdom authorities and in a separate case involving charges of the unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition.
Tshuma waived his right to bail and was remanded in custody until the next hearing on 27 August.
The extradition proceedings were postponed to allow the finalisation of the extradition documentation, while the firearm and ammunition matter was postponed for further police investigations.

Although Tshuma initially entered South Africa legally through OR Tambo International Airport in July, his immigration status has subsequently changed due to his status as a fugitive.
In terms of the Immigration Act, he is regarded as both a prohibited and undesirable person and is therefore considered to be unlawfully present in the Republic.
Tshuma was arrested in Kensington after the police, through INTERPOL National Central Bureau (NCB) Pretoria, received a request from the United Kingdom authorities to arrest him following the issuance of a warrant of arrest by the Westminster Magistrates’ Court.
According to the extradition request, Tshuma is wanted in the United Kingdom on three counts of murder.
It is alleged that he murdered his wife, Nothabo Zandile Tshuma, and their two children, Natalie Tshuma and Nala Tshuma, in Bedfordshire.
