ANC councillor gunned down in KZN
A 39-year-old ANC councillor has been shot and killed in Umzimkhulu, in northern KwaZulu-Natal.
Police spokesperson Colonel Thandeka Mbhele says the man was killed around 6.30pm.
"It is said he was arriving at home when he was attacked by unknown suspects and shot several time in the chest," says Mbhele.
He died on scene.

Mbhele says the motive for the murder is unknown.
"A case of murder is being investigated by the provincial organised crime task team."
