ANC 'Mashaba inexperienced and incapable of running Joburg'

The ANC in Johannesburg believes the city is at a point of imminent collapse.
Briefing media at its head offices on Sunday, Regional Chairperson Parks Tau says the DA has led the city into a financial crisis.
It's been a year since the ANC was unseated in Joburg following the local government elections. It believes the city is now on the brink off collapse.
Regional chair Parks Tau says revenue under performance, an inflated 2016/17 budget and over-expenditure are to blame.
"The city has experienced revenue under billing of R2.4 billion and under collection of under R3 billon by the end June 2017.
This means that the city is only able to deliver services in the short term on borrowed funds." he said
On the billing crisis, Tau says under his leadership the situation was being stabilized, but Mayor Herman Mashaba's inexperience has seen the problem rear its head again.
"If they are not focusing on the issues that keep the city healthy. This is a clear indication that Mayor Mashaba and his team are inexperienced and incapable of running an economic hub like Johannesburg. One year on, the DA led coalition is overwhelmed by the task of leading Africa's pre-eminent City." he believes.
The ANC Joburg regions says it will be requesting National Treasury to do a thorough analysis of the City of Johannesburg's 2017/2018 budget, particularly as it relates to 'the dubious R1 billion in revenue which cannot be accounted for'.
