The African National Congress (ANC) in Limpopo has officially endorsed Cyril Ramaphosa to be elected as president for the second term.
The party's Provincial Executive Committee (PEC) held its meeting on Monday as preparations for the December elective conference get underway.
The ANC is expected to open the nomination process this week for candidates to be elected at the party conference in December.
In a statement released on Monday, the provincial spokesperson, Jimmy Machaka said the PEC decided to support Ramaphosa for a second term.
"The PEC is of the firm view that Cde Ramaphosa is the best candidate to lead the renewal program," he says.
The executive committee also resolved to support the party's treasurer-general Paul Mashatile for the position of deputy president.
The party further resolved to support its current provincial chairperson, Stanley Mathabatha, for the position of national chairperson.
Machaka said engagements with other provinces will begin immediately led by the officials.
