ANC mourns veteran leader Dikeledi Magadzi

The African National Congress has expressed deep sorrow over the passing ofthe former Deputy Minister of Transport and former Deputy Minister of Water and Sanitation, Dikeledi Magadzi.
Magadzi passed away on the morning of 28 December at the age of 75.
She served the Limpopo provincial government as MEC for Public Works, Agriculture, Health, and Safety and Security.
At national level, Magadzi was a Member of Parliament and served as Deputy Minister of Transport from 2019 to 2021, before being appointed Deputy Minister of Water and Sanitation from 2021 to 2023.
The ANC described Magadzi as a committed leader and a seasoned cadre of the organisation.
The cause of her death has not yet been disclosed.
ANC National Spokesperson Mahlengi Bhengu said Magadzi was dedicated to every responsibility entrusted to her.
“Within the entire mass democratic movement, Comrade Magadzi was deeply embedded,” she said.
“We extend our heartfelt condolences to her family, including her children and grandchildren, as well as to all those friends, comrades, and all those whose lives were touched by her service.”
Bhengu added that Magadzi was part of several ANC structures, including the ANC Women’s League, as well as the establishment of the Congress of Traditional Leadership of South Africa.
