ANC MP dies of Covid-19 illness

African National Congress (ANC) Member of Parliament (MP) Martha Mmola has died as a result of a Covid-19 related illness.

Mmola, who served as a delegate of the National Council of Provinces (NCOP), passed away on Saturday.

 

She represented the province of Mpumalanga.

 

Presiding officers, Thandi Modise and Amos Masondo, have expressed their condolences on the passing of Mmola.

“We extend our heartfelt condolences to the family of Hon. Mmola, as well all the bereaved families of South Africans who have passed away due to this pandemic.

 

“We continue to urge South Africans to adhere to all safety protocols of level 3 lockdown, continue to stay at home and leave only when necessary, wash hands frequently and continue to wear masks at all times when in public spaces.”

 

The Presiding officers say Mmola will be remembered for her hard work, dedication, passion and love for the communities that she served.
