ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa says officials from the governing party are set to meet with former social development minister Bathabile Dlamini to determine her fate.
Dlamini, who is also the president of the ANC women's league, has been convicted on a charge of perjury over her testimony at a Constitutional Court hearing into the 2017 grants crisis.
She is expected back in the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court on Friday for the start of sentencing proceedings.
ANC members who have been found guilty of a criminal offence are expected to resign, according to a party resolution.

Speaking to the media on the sidelines of the National Union of Mineworkers conference in Boksburg on Wednesday, Ramaphosa said ANC officials have been instructed to meet with Dlamini.
“The decision of the national executive committee was that the officials are going to meet with Bathabile Dlamini and that is a process. We are a process-driven organisation whether you like it or not, so we are going to meet with her and we are going to have discussions
“I know the media want to see action now immediately, but we are process-driven and we are going to meet her and we are going to have a discussion with her,” said Ramaphosa.
