ANC top six to meet with Zuma on 'abiding by the Constitution'

The African National Congress (ANC)’s top six will soon be meeting with former President Jacob Zuma.

The date of the meeting has not yet been confirmed.

 

However, President Cyril Ramaphosa says the message to Zuma will be that he needs to abide by the country’s Constitution.

 

“The message will be fairly simple and straightforward that let us all abide by the constitution, our institutions particularly our judiciary,” said Ramaphosa on Friday.

Ramaphosa made the comments while he was in conversation with the South African National Editors Forum (SANEF). 

 

Zuma has made it clear to the Commission into State Capture that he will not be appearing before it to testify. 

 

The Commission has since asked the Constitutional Court to sentence the former President to two years in prison.
