ANC ward councillor to appear in court
African National Congress and Economic Freedom Fighters supporters were singing outside the Rustenburg Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday morning, ahead of the appearance of ward councillor, Luvuyo Tolo Maqwane.
Maqwane allegedly led a mob pelting EFF supporters with stones at Popo Molefe informal settlement near Rustenburg last week.
The EFF was campaigning in the area for supporters to attend their upcoming second anniversary at the Olympia Park Stadium in Rustenburg on Saturday, when their cars were stoned and damaged.
Maqwane was expected to apply for bail after 11am.-ANA
