ANC's Sheila Mabale-Huma elected Rustenburg Speaker

ANC member Sheila Mabale-Huma was on Friday elected Speaker at Rustenburg's inaugural council meeting.

Mabale-Huma was one of two nominees. Bosa Ledwaba from Forum 4 Service Delivery was nominated by the DA.
The ANC won the most seats - 43 - in the local government election, but failed to get an outright majority of the 89 seats.
A second round of voting was called for after both nominees received 44 votes each. One vote was spoiled.
In the second round, Mabale-Huma was declared victorious with 46 votes.
Opposition parties voted for Ledwaba, who received 43 votes.
