Corruption-accused former Bosasa COO Angelo Agrizzi has been moved to a private hospital after his health took a turn for the worse.

This comes after he spent less than a week at a public facility.
Agrizzi was initially moved from a Johannesburg prison to hospital after his health deteriorated last week.
His lawyer Daniel Witz confirmed he would be admitted to a high-care ward on Monday.
“I confirm that we were contacted at 12 o’clock today, myself and the family, to inform us by DCS (Department of Correctional Services) and the doctor at the public hospital that Mr Agrizzi’s condition had worsened and that they recommended that we approve the transfer of Mr Agrizzi to a private hospital in order that he can be admitted to an ICU or high-care facility,” he said.
Agrizzi’s condition was thrust into the spotlight after he was denied bail by the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court on fraud and corruption charges.
He has since applied for a motion to appeal the ruling.

Fourie is facing various charges including public violence, arson, and malicious damage to property. He was released after the state opted not to oppose his bail application. Free State National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) spokesperson, Phaladi Shuping, says Fourie is charged together with André Pienaar, who was also released on bail of R15 000 on Monday by the Bloemfontein High Court after an appeal was upheld by Judge Celeste Reinders.
Department of Correctional Services spokesperson Singabakho Nxumalo said the transfer falls well within Agrizzi’s rights.
“It was a request from the family which was approved following our policy and procedures as Correctional Services,” says Nxumalo.
“All inmates are entitled to health care at state expense except for treatment for cosmetic purposes. Critical to highlight is that inmates and remand detainees may be granted permission to be treated by his or her private medical practitioner at own cost and risk,” he added
Last week the Pretoria Specialised Commercial Crimes Court also postponed the R1.8 billion tender fraud case involving the Department of Correctional Services and Bosasa in light of Agrizzi’s hospitalisation.
