Another marginal increase in SA’s coronavirus recovery rate

South Africa’s Covid-19 recovery rate has seen a small but steady increase over the past few weeks – now standing at 88.7 %.
This was confirmed in the latest daily report released by Health Minister Zweli Mkhize on Wednesday evening.
It shows that 1 990 new Covid-19 cases were reported, bringing the total to 642 431.
Mkhize confirms there were 82 new Covid-19 related deaths in the latest 24-hour cycle.
The death total has increased to 15 168 – 10 new deaths were reported in KwaZulu-Natal, 27 in Gauteng, 5 in the Eastern Cape, 8 in the Free State, 10 in the Northwest and 22 in the Western Cape.
