Arrest warrant issued for Babes Wodumo
The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) has applied for a warrant of arrest for popular artist Bongekile Simelane - popularly known as Babes Wodumo.
The NPA says Simelane and her lawyer failed to show up at the Durban Magistrates Court on Friday, where she was due to face assault charges.
The local gqom artist and two other co-accused are alleged to have assaulted a Durban woman at an Umbilo guesthouse last month.
The victim claims she was beaten for leaking videos of the group.

The case was opened just days after a video emerged, showing Simelane being assaulted, went viral.
The video depicted her being abused by her producer boyfriend Mandla Maphumulo, known as Mampintsha.
The NPA has confirmed that the arrest warrant was issued for all three suspects.
