ATDF says truckers shut down N3 over employment of foreigners
Updated | By Makhosazane Twala
Truck drivers shut down the N3 highway between Warden and Villiers in the Free State on Tuesday morning to protest against the employment of foreign nationals in the sector.

The N3 came to a standstill after protesting truckers parked their vehicles on the national route that links Johannesburg and Durban.
All Truck Drivers Forum and Allied South Africa spokesperson Ncebo Ndlovu said the protest was related to foreign truck drivers, which has long been a concern to local drivers.
“It been a while now and still the minister has not come up with a solution. Since 2018 we have been complaining about the hiring of foreigners until this day, nothing has been done.
“The minister calls for a meeting every time there’s a strike and promise to implement the law but never does, so the drivers have decided to go back to the streets.”
