Attempted robbery accused shot in Soweto
A man was shot and wounded by police during an attempted robbery in Jabulani on Wednesday, Soweto police said.
The 26-year-old was allegedly trying to rob a woman of cash at gunpoint, Warrant Officer Kay Makhubela said.
"Police were nearby, saw the robbery, and shot the man in his right leg."
He was taken to hospital under police guard and would appear in the Protea Magistrate's Court soon.
