A taxi driver has been shot dead at the Bree Street taxi rank in the Johannesburg CBD
The shooting happened in the early hours of this morning, officials confirm.
Johannesburg Metro Police spokesperson Edna Mamonyane says no arrests have yet been made.
“A man who is also the owner of Faraday Taxis was fatally wounded. It is alleged that this morning, two men were following him and started shooting at him,” she says.
Around nine shots were fired at the victim, Mamonyane adds.
No further injuries were reported.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
