Baby killed in Pretoria crash
Updated | By JacarandaFM News
A baby boy was killed and three others injured when a bakkie and light motor vehicle collided on the N14 near the Eeufees Road turnoff in Thaba Tshwane, Centurion this morning.
ER24's Russel Meiring says paramedics arrived on the scene to find a bakkie and light motor vehicle in the left-hand lane of the road.
"Upon closer inspection, paramedics found a woman lying trapped in the rear of the light motor vehicle. It was found that the woman was holding her son, believed to be a year old," Meiring says.
Meiring says paramedics assessed the boy and found that he showed no signs of life.
"CPR and advanced life support interventions were immediately initiated. Unfortunately, after some time, no vital signs returned and the boy was declared dead," Meiring says.
Two men and the mother sustained moderate to serious injuries.
"The patients were treated for their injuries and were provided with advanced life support interventions before they were transported to Kalafong Hospital for further care," Meiring says.
