The pair's bail has been extended following the guilty verdict in the High Court in Middelburg on Friday.

Sentencing has been scheduled for 23 October.

Oosthuizen and Jackson forced Victor Mlotshwa into a coffin and threatened him in August 2016.

Judge Segopotje Mphahlele handed down the judgement.

Lawyers representing the accused asked the judge to give the farmers time to spend time at home with their families until the sentencing date.

The state had argued that the circumstances had changed and the accused might be tempted to flee.

The duo have been found guilty on the following charges: attempted murder, kidnapping, two counts of assault with the intent to do grievous bodily harm and intimidation.

Jackson has also been found guilty of the obstruction of justice

The pair were found not guilty for the possession of an unlicensed firearm.

The story broke when cellphone footage of the incident surfaced on social media.

The footage shows the two men threatening to pour petrol and set a coffin alight after Mlotshwa was forced inside.
