A motorcyclist died in a crash after fleeing from traffic officials in Mpumalanga on Monday.
The biker crashed into another vehicle on the N4 Schoemanskloof road.
Spokesperson for Mpumalanga's Department of Community Safety, Joseph Mabuza, says the man waved down by traffic officials.
"He was driving 283km/h, but they could not catch up with him. So later on, they received a message that he crashed and died on the scene," says Mabuza.
He says over 20 people were killed in various crashes in the province over the long weekend.
