BMW slams the breaks on NCR compliance notice
Updated | By Slindelo Masikane
German automaker BMW says it disagrees with a notice issued by the National Credit Regulator (NCR).
The NCR has directed BMW to refund its customers for charging them an on-the-road fee on credit agreements.
The charges ranged from R3000 to R6000.
According to the NCR's Lesiba Mashapa, the National Credit Act does not permit such a charge on credit agreements and BMW has been instructed to also submit an audit report.

But BMW Financial Services said on Twitter last night they dispute the contents of the notice and will be objecting.
The NCR says if BMW wants to challenge the compliance notice they will have to go to the National Consumer Tribunal.
