The body of a man swept into the Apies River in Pretoria North during the Gauteng floods has been found.
The man and his car was swept into the river after he tried to cross it on Thursday morning.
The police's Riana van Aarde says the man's body was found shortly after they located the vehicle, which sank below the surface of the flood water.
"The body was found about 15.km from the place where the vehicle was found," Van Aarde said.
Authorities had to wait for the water level to drop before they could pull the vehicle, which was pinned by a bridge, from the river.
The man's family was on scene.
