Body of North West grandmother found buried at home

A 36-year-old North West man is expected to appear in court on Friday in connection with the murder of his grandmother.

Police arrested the man in Mokgokgong village on Wednesday after his grandmother’s body was found buried at their home.
“I can confirm that Taung police are investigating a murder case that was after the body of 73-year-old Mirriam Baepi was yesterday discovered in Mokgokgong village where it was buried inside a small room of one of the houses in the village," says North West police spokesperson Adele Myburgh.
“Police then, after discovering the body, arrested a 36-year-old male that will be going to his first court appearance for the alleged murder on Friday at Taung Magistrate’s Court. We still need to do the post-mortem which will at the of the day determine the cause of death."
