Bomb concealed in package explodes in Durban home, five hurt

Five people have been rushed to hospital after a package delivered to them exploded in their home on Stephan Dlamini Road formerly, Essenwood Road in Durban this afternoon.

Details are still sketchy at this stage but it is believed the family had a bouquet of flowers delivered to them - which exploded in their lounge.
Police spokesperson, Nqobile Gwala says they were rushed to hospital privately.
"The family was sitting in their house when they received a parcel. They opened the parcel and it exploded. Three family members sustained serious injuries and were taken to hospital for medical attention. Police and the explosive unit are still busy at the scene.
Forensic experts are currently at the scene.
