Boulders Mall manager acted ‘out of lack of knowledge,’ says CRL

The CRL Rights Commission has found that suspended Boulders Mall manager Jose Maponyane acted out of “a lack of knowledge” when he kicked out isiNdebele activist Thando Mahlangu.

The commission also found that Maponyane was a victim of lost heritage created by past inequalities.
On Thursday, the commission’s chairperson Professor David Mosoma delivered the investigative report after the video of Maponyane and Mahlangu went viral last month.
In the video, Maponyane can be seen telling Mahlangu to leave Clicks after because his isiNdebele dress code was "inappropriate".

The video went viral on social media and led to the commission launching an investigation.
Maponyane has since been ordered to make an apology for his treatment of Mahlangu.
