MASS SHOOTING IN USA: At least 14 people were killed in a shooting at a holiday party in California on Wednesday, triggering a massive manhunt which ended when police shot dead two heavily armed suspects -- a man and a woman -- on a quiet residential street. San Bernardino police chief Jarrod Burguan said a third suspect had been detained, but it was unclear whether that person was linked to the shooting, which took place at a centre in the city for those with developmental disabilities just before lunch time. The attack was the latest in a series of mass shootings in the United States, a spiral of violence that has exasperated President Barack Obama, who once again urged Congress to pass tougher gun control measures.

JUDGEMENT IN OSCAR PISTORIUS CASE EXPECTED: In South Africa its judgement day yet again for Oscar Pistorius. The Supreme Court of Appeal will deliver its verdict on whether the Paralympian is guilty of murder after the State's appeal last month to have his conviction changed from culpable to homicide for the death of Reeva Steenkamp. Pistorius spent a year behind bars and is serving the rest of his five year sentence under correctional supervision but if Prosecutor Gerrie Nel convinced the judges in Bloemfontein - he could go back to prison - something his defence advocate, Barry Roux tried to prevent. Maryke Vermaak reports from Bloemfontein.

SA & CHINA SIGN MEGA DEALS: The Chinese president, Xi Jin-ping is in town and he has already signed more than 20 investment-agreements with President Jacob Zuma, to benefit various South African industries totalling R 94 billion. Silindelo Masikane reports.

MALEMA HITS BACK AT CRITICS: EFF-leader, Julius Malema hit back at critics suggesting that he went the UK last month to secure funding for his party. Malema was very firm in his denial, saying he would not sell his sole to capitalists. Samkele Maseko reports.

NEW SUPER RUGBY KITS REVEALED: Shortly after the Bulls revealed their new super rugby kits, the Lions Rugby Union followed suite while the DHL Stormers also unveiled their kit for next year's super rugby tournament. 

DONKEY GETS A LIFT FROM POLCIE OFFICER: And a police officer in Oklahoma in the US is fast becoming an internet sensation, after getting a call about a lost donkey wandering in the street. The officer decided to give the donkey a ride to safety.
